Hardware

The MTC45 GSM GPRS Terminal, enables the Siemens MC45 or TC45 modules to be used conveniently and safely in many communications applications.

The MTC45GPRS terminal can be ordered in two guises:

  • A MC45 version providing a tri-band (900/1800/1900MHz) terminal, high throughput class 10 GPRS capabilities and also 2 serial interfaces.
  • A TC45 version which is ideal for initial field trials of TC45 applications and has the capability to store and process bespoke Java software with either one serial interface and 9 GPIO pins or 2 serial interfaces.

Both serial ports (and the I/O) on both versions are brought out on the 25 way high-density D-type connector. Serial cables are available as a simple converter cable (type 1) for normal modem use, and as a double-headed cable which brings out the second serial port at normal logic levels rather than RS-232. TDC are also able to supply Starter Packs for both versions.

Features:

  • Dimensions: 30mm x 61mm x 95mm (including connectors)
  • Weight: 132 grams (including RF module)
  • Operating Temperature: –15 to +50°C
  • Interfaces: Aerial FME socket
  • High Density 26 socket – for (2) RS232, Digital Audio,
  • Analogue Audio, 9-GPIO
  • DC power input 8-30 Volts (requires 1 amp at 12 Volts capability)
  • Mini SIM card
  • Interface Cables: Type 1 – single RS232, Type 2 – dual RS232
  • Standards compliance
    - Tested and approved to the R&TTE directive, and carries the CE mark.
    - Tested by the VCA and approved for vehicle installation, and carries the e11 mark, reference 022143.

Software

Auron SMS Server is a Windows-based software package that enables you to send, receive and process SMS and e-mail messages. Supported communication protocols: GSM, HTTP, SMPP, SMTP, POP3. Incoming messages are processed by 'triggers', and can be fully customized.

It's a framework for any scenario where one/two-way SMS is required. Create a voting/polling system, send out mass SMS broadcasts, create a reservation system, etc.. Real-life case-studies are included as sample projects.
