---|---|
The WAPsody simulation environment is a Java implementation of WAP specification and the WAP application environment. WAP defines a browser-based system intended for use from mobile telephone handsets, PDAs, and other mobile computing devices. It defines a microbrowser that displays specially formatted content pages (in WML format) that are transmitted to the mobile device using the WAP communications protocol over a broad range of mobile data channels. How does it work? WAPody simulates most aspects of WAP and is designed to be used as a WAP application-building environment. It comprises a set of Java classes that implement most layers of the WAP specifications (with the notable exception of WTLS). WAPsody implements WAP Version 1.2, but NOT the new WAP 2.0 specifications. |
